Indian Style

Tried two new dishes.  Sweet Potato Curry and Corn Indian Style.  I grabbed organic Japanese yams which were white inside, but tasted a bit like sweet potato.  I modified both recipes to make use of some organic beets I had picked up at Whole Wallet.  Instead of spinach, I used the beet greens in the sweet potato curry dish. In the corn dish I used the beets.  They both turned out really, really good.

Dinner

So, I tried an eggplant torta the other day.  Good flavor, but I sliced the eggplant too thickly and so not all of it got cooked all the way through.  Also cooked up some chard with butter, garlic,  red onion and of course crushed red pepper flakes.  The chard turned out really good according to the wife, so that I will do again.

Breakfast this morning was sauteed hash brown patties with melted cheddar cheese on top.  Eggs sunny-side up on top of the melted cheesy hash browns and an Andouille sausage.

I love pickles

My favorite pickles, at the moment are...

Yes, I know it's blurry, but my dog was sniffing the dog on the jar, so had to take the shot.  Buck's Vineyard makes awesome pickles.  My favorite are the spicy ones, I think they are called, "Coles Chili Cukes".

Seeing the movie, "Saint Ralph", http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384488/ made me want to run.
